How Do I...Force Add a Course?

Force-Add is the procedure that allows students to request to enroll in a class that is already full or that have restrictions which the students do not meet.

A class can be force-added in two instances:

  1. When the class capacity is full and the professor agrees to let you enroll.
  2. When the course has restrictions that you do not meet but the professor agrees to let you enroll.

In order to force-add a class you have to do the following:

  1. University Studies students should consult with their academic advisor. Check the Student Advising website at the beginning of the semester for a full listing of instructions per department.
  2. Each college/department may have unique instructions, surveys, or critieria for force-adding. There is NO GUARANTEE students are granted a seat through the force-add process.
